Jane Allen Wilson is the Director of Training & Special Projects for the N.C. Victim Assistance Network (NCVAN). She has been an advocate for adult and child victims of IPV/domestic and sexual violence victims and other forms of violence for 25 years, including surviving loved ones of homicide victims. Much of that time includes real-world experience working directly with victims of violence as an advocate to people in immediate crisis, in court proceedings, in therapeutic settings with both adults & children, and ultimately as the Shelter Director for a community-based non-profit before moving on to address the needs of crime victims through state level work. At the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV), and for nearing a decade with NCVAN, she has provided consult to local programs, true to the grassroots ideals of holistic, wrap-around support. She has designed, facilitated, and directed training programs for victim service providers across the state and nation to better support people impacted by violence. Her creative programming fosters connection and genuine, person-centered, trauma-informed service, cognizant of the many life intersections impacting crime victims navigating our systems. Her focus on community collaboration and criminal justice task force development through relationship-building and vision earned her formal state recognition and led to better outcomes for crime victims.
