Clare Kurdys

Clare Kurdys is a Grant Staff Attorney for the Innocence Inquiry Commission where she investigates cases with a DNA component.

Clare earned both her undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, graduating from the School of Law in 2020. During law school, Clare interned at the NC Department of Justice, the North Carolina Court of Appeals with the Honorable Judge Allegra Collins, and enterprise software company Red Hat, Inc. She also served as a member of the UNC Sexual and Domestic Violence Clinic and the UNC Professional and Graduate Student Honor Court.

Following graduation and admission to the North Carolina State Bar in 2020, Clare practiced as a civil litigator in Raleigh, North Carolina, advocating at all levels of our State Courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Clare joined the Commission in 2024.
