Alex Strombotne

Alex Strombotne is a Staff Attorney for the Innocence Inquiry Commission. She joined the Commission in January 2023. Prior to joining Commission staff, she was an attorney at the Wake County Public Defender’s Office for 13 years.

Alex graduated from American University in Washington D.C. in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Justice and Public Policy. She then worked as a legal assistant at a commercial real estate firm in DC for two years. Alex obtained her law degree from North Carolina Central Law School in 2009. While in law school, she interned at the Wake County Public Defender’s Office.

Alex is admitted to practice law in North Carolina.
