Womble Three-Judge Panel
The three-judge panel was held in Granville County on October 17, 2014. The parties chose not to present additional evidence and offered the Commission’s hearing documents as evidence. The District Attorney and the Defense Attorney agreed that the evidence showed that Mr. Womble was innocent and they jointly asked the Judges to vacate the conviction and exonerate Mr. Womble. The Judges agreed and declared Mr. Womble innocent. He was released the same day.
