State v. Reeves

About the Case

In State v. Reeves, the Commission conducted a hearing on December 14, 2007. The Commission voted by majority that there was sufficient evidence of factual innocence to merit judicial review. At that time, the case was referred to a three-judge panel.

The three-judge panel hearing was held in Pitt County from August 25, 2008 through September 3, 2008. At the conclusion of the hearing, the three-judge panel ruled that Mr. Reeves had not proven his innocence by clear and convincing evidence and relief was denied.

The documents presented at the Commission hearing became public record and are included here. The transcript of the Commission hearing is available for viewing ONLY.
